Postmodernism is A late 20th-century style of working which brings together arts architecture criticism and represents detachment from modernism. it is created through the conscious use of styles that happen before using their conventions, and mixing the different artistic styles and media on which the artist previously had used and themselves.

Culture has come so far now, images and language are no longer original, it is just representation of a representation.

Representation – this is how we communicate visually
parody – this is a form of representation of the past, which is made into communication
pastiche – an artistic movement which is work that has been done in a different style which imitates another worker or artist or period.
Nostalgia – this is the representation of the past is not always accurate, this is based on lots of stereotypes of what we interpret things from a different period to be; not always leaving them accurate.
Cultural production – this is communication which is been embedded within capitalism to create a production that is subject to exchange value but by doing that disables the actual value of the item itself, value is embedded in capitalist production rather than the item which is being sold itself.
