Although I do not normally look into the links between particular topics and religion as I believe it is such a personable subject. Yet I came across this essay which gave me insight into the way that consumerism, and its links to lifestyle, can be perceived in a religious manner. In which brands become iconic within the retail sphere and therefore are treated and worshipped in a way that a religious figure may be. Brands resonate with particular lifestyles and output a particular image to people, particularly high-end brands, in the same way, that particular religious clothing items signify a link to a particular religion, and in turn, that religious traditions and customs.
